- To discuss the relevance of the concept of territorial cohesion;
- To show the importance of scale in the conceptualization of territorial cohesion;
- To create a database to support the building up of indicators;
- To propose a set of indicators aiming at measuring the evolution of territorial cohesion at different scales;
- To evaluate the way the existing territorial management tools compete (or not) with territorial cohesion;
- To analyse the impacts of sectorial policies in territorial cohesion;
- To discuss the role of spatial planning and urban policies in territorial cohesion.
